Have you ever seen the movie "Beautiful Country"?
Well, I feel very much associated with the person in the movie. Traveling halfway through the world, he wanted to find his place on earth. So do I.
Most people fits pretty well on social groups, and their existence is defined by their group. Well, I, on the other hand, am unable to be a part of a group and feel completely belonged.
THus this is my destiny. Constantly trying to find new home for myself, yet with my inability to sustain long-term relationship, my pursuit may end up to be a lifelong battle.

Recturdo's Airy Odyssey
* This is my speech that I performed on Toastmasters Tall Tale contest, March 2007. It did not win, but received quite a warm response nonetheless.
Recturdo's Airy Odyssey
Once Upon a Time, in a small village, lived Alfredo and his wife Oralita. They make a living as pinto bean farmers.
One day, Oralita give birth to a boy. They name him Recturdo.
But when Oralita was expecting, she fed herself too much beans. As a result, little Recturdo suffers a permanent problem: His body always produces gas. No matter what he eats, he always produces gas like a steam machine.
This problem worries Recturdo's parents. They think he is an embarassment, so they keep him in their house as much as possible. Recturdo does not go to school or play with other kids.
Years later, Recturdo turns adult. He is tired of being secluded, so he tells his dad “Dad, I want to travel, sell beans and earn some gold.”
“No son, because you can't sell, you can only pass gas.”
Determined Recturdo does not give up. He waits until night comes, then sneaks out of his house, grabs a sack of beans and runs away.
Recturdo starts his journey. Soon, he ends up in the village of Soledo. It is located on a high cliff, and has a tremendous beauty. There's a crowd of villagers nearby.
After a while, Recturdo finally able to convince the villagers to buy his beans.
Alas, his bowel suddenly acts up. Recturdo passes gas so strong that its wind erodes the whole mountain. It collapses the entire village off the cliff and kills everyone instantly.
Recturdo continues his journey, and soon arrives at the village of Borragio. Borragio is so beautiful, and located next to a blue lake. Recturdo sees fishermen working on their boats.
But when he's finally able to convince them to buy, Recturdo pass gas again. This time it's stronger the wind displaced the entire lake and flood the village. The whole village sinks and its people killed instantly.
Recturdo continues his journey. The next village he enters, Metanito, is so ugly. The building looks so shabby, and the place smells like bad goat cheese.
A group of people are playing music. Recturdo never hears a music so beautiful, he can't help himself but to dance the funky butt. He moves to the left and he moves to the right.
Too bad, his bowel can't handle the motion. He pass gas so loud it sounds like a thousand ragged trombones.
“That is such a beautiful sound!! We want to do that too!”
Rectardo, surprised by the reaction, give away the entire bean. The whole village starts eating the beans, and soon, everyone is passing gas in various pitches and rhythms.
“We'd be honored if you'd like to stay with us.”
And for the first time in his life, Recturdo feels that he belongs. He was born to pass gas, and finally, he's found a place where people accept him. Recturdo lives there happily ever after.
